Burning

The prompt this week for Illustration Friday  is 'Burning'.

“To keep a lamp burning we have to keep putting oil in it.”
 ~ Mother Teresa

'Burning' had me stumped at first, so hopefully this quote and its wonderful metaphor works !?

See if you can find my sneaky map of Australia and the island of Tasmania.
(acrylic and mixed media on canvas)

P.S Have a wonderful week and thank you for your thoughts and comments

Excellent illustration!
The map is on the pillow right?
My first thought was that the shape of the boat, the girls head and the bubbles in the water followed the contours of Australia as well... maybe?

Loch Ness monster too?

Lovely image-- I wonder, if you sleep on a pillow with a map, will your dreams take you there? If so I may take up pillow embroidery!

Hey hey, well your blog went under thanks so much for pointing me the way back to it. Exquisite work, very luminous, and nicely hidddden Oz :)

The whole painting is so well done and the fabric vanishing into the water is great. Amazing what you can do with acrylic - I'm envious.
