'Perennial'
is the prompt this week at Illustration Friday
“A good scientist is a person in whom the childhood quality of perennial curiosity lingers on. Once he gets an answer, he has other questions.” ~ Frederick Seitz
This painting is a detail from a piece I'm working on at the moment. It's about the Thylacine cynocephalus(Tasmanian Tiger).
The Thylacine is a large carnivorous marsupial now believed to be extinct. It was the only member of the family Thylacinidae to survive into modern times. It is also known as the Tasmanian Tiger or Tasmanian Wolf

Nice take on "perennial." The cave-painting style is a unique angle.
Just stunning, love it
Very nice!
Oh, how strong your Tasmanian tigers are! I like the background, too - did you use a texture or drew it by yourself? Thanks for the links - they make your post a very interesting reading! I have heard of the Tasmanian Devil, but saw it for the first time!
I wish you a successful new week, Naomi!x
Beautiful work, I imagine that when you finished it will be much more beautiful, obviously. it's a shame that as these beautiful animals have become extinct because of humans. There really is not right.
Thanks for your comments,
Rossichka, my ever so insightful friend, it is just a textured background. I photoshopped the painting to make it a bit more attractive for I.F, I will post on the actual painting and background.
It Is so sad that our species has led to the extinction of this species (and many others). I hope to celebrate the beauty that was and warn that it's still happening today.
they look great, I love the texture background too. It's very sad they are extinct.
Wowee! Beautiful design and atmosphere! I love it!
Gorgeous work Naomi!xx
Thanks Ana, it is sad, although there are rumors that in the deep, dark forests of Tasmania...
Indigene - thank you, what a great compliment :-)
Cheers Jessie, it's always nice to hear from you
wow, you have an amazing style!!!
Beautiful Naomi, looking out to see the whole piece, x
They seem so powerful - love the back hips, feel like dinosaurs underneath. The background hints at decay, stone, scratched-image - kept me looking and looking again.
cheers - I do love this background, but it is just a Illustration Friday beautification I've done. The real background is still a work in progress :-)
