"Gesture"
is the prompt this week at Illustration Friday

"Drawing is like making an expressive gesture with the advantage of permanence. "
 ~Henri Matisse

I'm sure my little cheeky cheshire friend below would like to make an '..expressive gesture' all of his own.

just a bit of fun this week after last week's serious post.
Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

I'd say you captured the soul of Matisse! The colors, patterns and expressions are exquisite!

Heisann!

I also thought of Matisse's style and way to paint women in one of his periods!

Beautiful gesture ;:OD)

While in art school I had an assignment to copy a famous painting, so I picked Matisse because I thought it would be easy. Boy was I wrong, he was a brilliant colorist and I didn't even get close.
I like this piece with hidden cat and friendly bird. I wish wild birds would light on my hand like that. I'm commenting here because I know nothing of essential oils :(

Such a lovely mood of calmness and inner harmony! I hear the cat's murmuring, before falling asleep. The perfect hug!:) For me, these are your colours! By the way, I'm changing your cards one by one in the hall - we like to look at them!:-)
Have a nice and successful week, Naomi!
